Types of weaves of gold chains. Types, types and names of weaving silver chains

07.09.2024
Rare daughters-in-law can boast that they have an even and friendly relationship with their mother-in-law. Usually the exact opposite happens

When buying a chain, deciding on the metal and length is half the battle. You need to choose a weave! To solve this issue, you need to know what types there are. In this guide we talk in detail about the types of chain weaving that Krastsvetmet offers.

All weaving is divided into 2 main types: anchor and armored. Plus several additional types, each of which can be expanded into a kind of “family tree”. Some of them are bright and self-sufficient, not requiring combination with pendants. Others are neutral and modest, which are better revealed in partnership with the pendant.

Anchor weaving

Another type of weaving is "Gurmeta Cordino"- consists of heart links. Such chains are more rounded and are suitable for women and children, including for wearing with a cross.

If you weave a chain not from oval links, but from diamond-shaped ones, you will get a recognizable weave "rhombus". “Rhombus” is usually double or triple: due to the special openwork of the weaving and the width of the links, such chains are good to wear as an independent decoration, but they also look great in combination with a pendant. The light reflects off the links in an unusual way. The chain retains its original festive shine and beauty for a long time.

"Nonna" somewhat reminiscent of a “diamond”, but unlike it, the links of the “nonna” are not the same in size. Most often, “nonna” is double: when small rounded diamond-ovals are enclosed inside large ones. Krastsvetmet also produces a single version: in this case, large links are connected to small ones one after another, creating a light and airy weave.

Love/s- a chain whose links resemble the shape of a heart. This airy and feminine weave is suitable for creating a romantic look. You can also give a “love/s” chain to your lover or daughter, telling with this gesture about the ardor or constancy of feelings.

"Figaro"- a combination of long links with short ones. Figaro has several varieties, depending on the number of short links located between the long ones, and vice versa. Thanks to this alternation, you can choose the most suitable character of the chain even within one type of weaving: “figaro” can be either airy (such as the 3+1 variety), or reminiscent of twisted chains (1+1), or similar to a cord with “ knocked out" links (4 or 5 short links in a row).

"Ochio di Pernice"- seemingly complex - openwork - weaving, and at the same time continuing the principle of connecting links, like a “diamond”. Other names for weaving: “panther eye”, “eagle eye” or “bird’s eye” (translated from the original from Italian - “partridge’s eye”), which two adjacent links in the chain are really similar to.

"Lumakina"- armored weaving of links twisted inward and between each other. From a distance, the links look like mollusk shells, which is why “lumakina” has a second name - “snail”. The memorable design is good on its own, so it does not require a pendant, but with it it will create a winning pair.

"Tsar"- armor weaving in two rows, in which the links are arranged in a checkerboard pattern. Tsar weaving chains look both masculine and simple, so they can serve as an alternative to the Bismarck weave, another favorite among men. In addition, women often choose the “king” for themselves: a wide chain contrastsly emphasizes femininity and fragility.

"Singapore"- one of the most famous and popular weavings, which allows you to create a chain with a particularly bright shine. Links of the same size in "Singapore" are intertwined into a twisted chain and complemented by diamond cutting. In Krastsvetmet chains, the turn is made often: such processing turns even the most modest decoration in width into a catchy accent. Despite the apparent decorative effect, Singapore chains can be worn with a pendant.

"Serpentina"- weaving from flat links, which is based on “gurmet”. reminiscent of waves or Greek ornament. Despite the fact that “serpentine” has a bright, recognizable pattern, it can be worn with a pendant.

Armor weaving: cords

Among the chains of armored weaving there is a group of “cords” - smooth chains with a round or square cross-section. In addition, “cords” are divided into soft and hard. As a rule, single cords are a safe bet for almost any pendant.

"Snake"- a round chain that looks like snakeskin. The tightly knit links in this weaving are connected at an angle: thanks to this, the chain in motion really looks like it’s alive. There is also a “square” “snake”, which looks more avant-garde.

"Snake"- another type of weaving, similar to a snake, but unlike the “snake”, the links here are not located diagonally, but horizontally along the axis of the chain.

"Amygdala"- smooth chain-cord with zigzag links. The density and flexibility of the “almond” allows you to weave braids from three, four or five such chains, which are worn as an independent decoration without a pendant.

"Voa oval"(or “double gurmet”) - weaving that resembles a tightly compressed spring. Transverse diagonal lines add dynamics and help create the image of an active modern woman.

Weaving "gourmet oval" very similar to a “snake”, but the cross-section of such a chain is not round, but oval.

Another weave similar to “snake”, but with longer links. This weave is the basis of the chain "tripla cordino", as if stretched to a twisted chain of links connected by an anchor type.

By the way, weaving "Chinese cord" also resembles the “tripla cordino”, but the links in it are arranged very tightly, justifying the name of this species.

"Montreal" in turn, has a noticeable resemblance to the “triple trampoline”, but it is rather a flat cord with the appropriate cross-section. Three or four Montreal chains are often woven into braids: due to their texture and thickness, such jewelry is worn without a pendant.

"Parigina" Unlike “montreal”, which is based on “double gurmet”, it is made from ordinary single weave, so its pattern is simpler. Chain braids are also woven from “Parigina” (they come out more airy), sometimes combining it with “Montreal”.

Certain types of weaving

Bismarck
The most famous “male” weaving, which, however, is also suitable for women with a strong character. Dense knitting of links, each of which consists of several multidirectional rings, makes Bismarck weaving one of the most reliable. "Bismarck" can be single or double. In the second case, the chain resembles a wide, flat (and at the same time voluminous) ribbon, so a pendant will be superfluous here.

Perlina
Perlina weaving chains are very different from the rest. Here the links are not “rings”, but “beads”. Such chains can consist only of round balls placed on a jewelry base thread (“ball” chains) or of alternating balls and barrels (“ball + barrel”). “Ball” chains, in turn, can be single or double, as well as diamond-cut, and from “ball + barrel” chains they are woven into braids of different thicknesses, which are best worn as an accent necklace.

"Saturn"- this is, rather, not weaving, but an additional technique in which ball links are put on the main chain (in our store it is “snake”, “gurmet” or “cobra”) with a given pitch. From a distance, the links really look like the rings of Saturn, and, since this is an additional decorative element, such a chain can be worn without a pendant.

"Ear"- another telling name for a weave that resembles a spike of wheat (however, it has another popular name - “fox tail”). The “spike” can be double or triple, and its links can be arranged very tightly (then the chain becomes like a smooth, rigid cord that cannot be bent) or, on the contrary, woven into an airy braid. Since the braided chains are usually wide and textured, they can be worn as a stand-alone decoration or with a voluminous pendant.

Anchor weaving is a find of ancient jewelers. With its help, the first chains of precious metals were created. The rounded links were connected to each other at an angle of 90°. Over time, the craftsmen's products became more complex and fanciful: the geometric shapes of the links changed, their unconventional combinations were created, and new types of sections appeared. At the heart of many modern jewelry masterpieces is the ancient anchor clutch of links that adds charm to them. With the help of such jewelry you can create original and fresh images. Before we look at the non-standard subtypes of weaving, let's figure out what its traditional version is.

Classic version

Classic anchor weaving involves oval links connected to each other at right angles. Jewelry created this way is quite durable. But it is worth considering that even one link made poorly can lead to rapid rupture of the product, and in the worst case, to its loss. Classic anchor chain weaving is the simplest of all, so jewelry made in it will not cause trouble when caring. Jewelry has a certain romantic aura. In appearance, they resemble anchor chains, which are used on heavy ships plowing the sea. This striking association gave the technology its name. The anchor weave of the gold chain looks especially impressive. A photo of the model is presented below.

Varieties of classic weaving

The traditional version has many variations. One of them is the “1+1” anchor weave. It differs from the classic one in the more elongated shape of the links, which are approximately twice as long as the traditional ones. In “1+2” weaving, the links alternate. The first number indicates the number of standard elements in the combination, the second - the number of elongated ones. Thus, first there is one short link, then two long links, then a short link again, and so on. Variations can be very different, for example “5+1”. This variety involves serial connections of five ordinary elements, interspersed with short links. What else could an anchor chain weave be?

Anchor "knocked together" weaving

Jewelry lovers have an incredibly wide selection of jewelry to choose from. It is worth paying attention to chains and bracelets of anchor “knitted together” weaving. Their links fit tightly to each other, leaving only minimal gaps between them. Such chains look more impressive and voluminous than traditional ones. Thin links will make jewelry made of precious metal a charming piece of jewelry for ladies. A chain made of massive elements will undoubtedly look great on a man’s neck or hand.

"Italian Bismarck"

The most voluminous jewelry is created from two classic anchor chains at once. Their links are soldered to each other and form a wide woven ribbon. Two chains combined into one are often called the “Italian Bismarck”. This weaving allows you to create luxurious bracelets and chic chains. The width of the products varies. Several chains can be soldered into one at once.

"Sea Anchor"

The “Sea Anchor” technique deserves special attention. The links of a chain made in this way have jumpers. Due to this feature, this subtype is almost identical to the weaving of a real anchor chain used on large ships. After all, jumpers in jewelry elements are like buttresses, spacers that prevent its deformation. Such a striking similarity gave rise to the name of weaving. Thanks to the crosspieces, jewelry made using the “Sea Anchor” technique is considered one of the most durable. They are made from different precious metals. However, what has the greatest charm is the Anchor weave with jumpers made from this metal, which really evokes thoughts of long voyages.

"Bastille"

The next subspecies, worthy of detailed consideration, has the non-trivial name “Bastille”. This technique is characterized by double oval links. They are connected in pairs perpendicular to each other. The products look voluminous, are distinguished by rigor and reliability. These are real anchor weaves. They are usually made in gold and are positioned as independent jewelry.

"Rollo"

Subtypes of anchor weaving may differ from each other in the shape of the links. Classic oval shapes are competing with non-traditional round ones. Such links are typical for rollo weaving. It is also called "belzer" or "chopard". The last name is used especially often. And there are reasons for this. Once upon a time, models with round links were in the collections of the Swiss fashion house Chopard. It was he who made this anchor chain weaving truly popular. A photo of a product made using the Rollo technique is presented below.

There are straight and twisted “rollo”. Links in chains can be narrow or wide.

"Garibaldi"

There is also a "double rollo". It is distinguished as a separate subspecies of anchor weaving and is called “garibaldi”. The history of the name goes back to memorable historical events that occurred in Italy in the 19th century, when the country was under Austrian yoke. Giuseppe Garibaldi fought for the liberation of his homeland. In honor of the national hero of Italy, weaving got its name. Chains made using this method look solid. They, like Bastille weaving products, belong to purely masculine jewelry.

"Giotto"

Jewelry made using the Giotto technique suits women and girls very well. This is a rather unusual chain weave. The anchor clutch of large thin links shaped like rings gives the product some originality and eccentricity. “Giotto” is a modification of the “Chopard” subspecies. It is surprisingly weightless and airy in appearance. With such a decoration on the hand or neck, any representative of the fair sex will look rich and chic. A chain made of white gold with Giotto anchor weave also looks elegant. Silver items also have charm. The Giotto chain is one of the most durable. Even if it breaks, which is unlikely, repairing the jewelry will be quite cheap and will not take much time. Thanks to its simple structure, it is easy to care for.

The name “giotto” did not take root in Russia. Due to the similarity of chain links to curtain rings, the names “curtain” and “blinds” are readily used instead. In addition to the classical technique, there are “double giotto” and “triple giotto”.

"Venetian weaving"

Products made using the Venetian weaving technique will look luxurious on both men and women. Unlike the classics, its basis is not round, but rectangular or square elements, which make this chain weaving original. The anchor connection of the wide links is quite strong. Handcrafting such a product is hard and painstaking work. Only an experienced master can perform it. Depending on the number of links in the block, double and triple “Venetian” are distinguished. It can be straight or curved.

"Cord weaving"

Jewelry made using the cord weaving technique looks no less original. It is used to make twisted bracelets and chains with a stepped or wave-like pattern. Each link in the jewelry is connected to several subsequent ones at once. Due to the complex weaving structure of the chain, they become voluminous and look truly luxurious.

"Moscow beat"

The “Moscow bit” weaving is of particular interest. It combines a classic anchor and elements unusual for this type: additional curved links connected to oval ones. Thanks to their unconventional shape, massive appearance and their name, such jewelry is positioned as a symbol of wealth and luxury for residents of megacities. A gold chain will help emphasize the status and wealth of its owner. Anchor weaving "Moscow bit" is one of the few techniques that are used to make purely men's jewelry.

"Anchor Diamond"

Not particularly common, but attractive in appearance, are chains made using the “anchor diamond” technique. How weaving arose is not known exactly. Presumably, it appeared as a result of the merger of the classical anchor technique with the armored one, called “rhombo”. Weaving is a perpendicular connection of diamond-shaped links. Jewelry tends to look elegant regardless of the metal from which it is made.

Fantasy anchor weaves

Fancy anchor chains will help create a catchy, memorable image. The author's products number in the dozens and do not lend themselves to standard classification. They are original works of jewelry, in which it is difficult to recognize their ancestor: a traditional anchor chain.

Craftsmen give free rein to their imagination, and as a result, truly non-trivial jewelry appears. The most famous fancy anchor weaves are “Aurora” and “Hawaiian”. They look somewhat extravagant. In the wavy “aurora” the links seem to be twisted into a spiral. The Hawaiian jacket combines paired elements of an unusual shape.

The imagination of master jewelers knows no bounds. They make chains from elements of different shapes and sizes. So, in one piece of jewelry you can find links of chain mail “Mobius” and round “Chopard”. It may contain elements created from different types of gold. Indeed, it is a fantasy chain that can create a truly bright, unique image.

Anchor weaving (silver and gold) - current trend

Since ancient times, anchor chains made of gold and silver have been the most sought-after jewelry. The strict simplicity of weaving products from precious metals favorably emphasizes the status, wealth, and good taste of its owners. Jewelry can be subtle and elegant, massive and powerful.

Essentially, anchor chains are a unisex style. Among the unprecedented variety of jewelry creations, both men and women can easily find products that suit them. Chains, depending on their thickness, can be used to wear pendants, pendants, crosses, and also as independent jewelry. Thanks to its versatility at all times, products created using anchor weaving technology will have their fans.

Gold has always been an object of desire for all mankind. This precious metal is the most desired one when choosing jewelry. Chains are in great demand.

The use of modern technologies in the production of gold products has made it possible to produce chains of a wide variety of weaves and shapes. We will try to describe the most common examples of this art, since showing all the names seems to be an incredibly difficult task.

  • This is important:

All chains according to the manufacturing method can be divided into three groups:

  • Self made
  • Produced by automatic machines
  • Hollow, so-called “blown”

Handmade

Bismarck

This weaving has gained wide popularity due to its ease of manufacture and at the same time great reliability. The variety of sizes of the Bismarck is also striking.

The weight of handmade gold chains varies from 5 grams to 100 grams and above. Bismarcks can be “liquid” and dense, flat, rounded, round, with soldered plates. An important advantage of this weave is its versatility; it can be worn by both men and women.

  • This is important:

Italian or cardinal (python)

Weaving with this name is very widely represented on the gold jewelry market. Unlike the simple, even rough Bismarck, the cardinal looks more refined and gentle (photo). In this regard, it is considered more of a women's chain.

The weight options are also very extensive, from 5g and up. For men, there is a version of this weaving with springs at the connection of the links, it is heavier, starting from 40 g.

Armor weaving

This type is highly reliable and can serve for a very long time. Unique beauty is achieved through large links with large flat surfaces, which gives a unique mirror shine, especially on massive samples.

The disadvantage is a fairly rapid loss of shine, due to the fact that gold is a soft metal and is easily scratched. Small ones can be worn by women, larger samples are intended for the male half.

Anchor weaving

A very beautiful weaving, quite modest in appearance, but popular because of its reliability and versatility. There are a large number of anchor size variations: from 3 g to almost any desired size. Often there are anchor chains made of gold, connected in 2, 3 and even 4 rows.

The common advantage of all handmade gold chains is their reliability and quality of workmanship. The disadvantage can be considered the high cost associated with the inability to make light-weight jewelry for a wide range of buyers.

Machine knitting

On sale you can find a huge number of types of names of small machine knitted chains. The use of modern automatic machines has made it possible to produce less massive products that were previously produced by hand (Bismarck, cardinal, anchor), which made them generally available. Here are examples of the most common weaves, their photos and names.

Arab

This weaving is beautiful and quite reliable. It is possible to manufacture such chains manually.

Rope

Weaving in which individual gold wires are twisted into a rope is another name.

Nona

A very common name where the eights are connected by oval links. Visually they look massive, with little weight.

Rombo

Consists of oval links intertwined with each other. The specimen in the photo resembles a shell.

Singapore

Delicate weaving similar to rope, but thinner and airier. They can be very small, less than a gram of gold, like the sample shown in the photo.

Tonda (snack)

A high-quality chain, reminiscent of a snake, which is why its second name is associated, is very practical. There is a variety of tonda with balls.

Figaro

The flat chain is quite large, which adds to its reliability.

Forza

The weave looks like anchor weaving, but consists of round links.

The heart-shaped links are the reason for the name.

Rose

Each part is like a separate rosebud.

Scythe

Interweaving several individual flat braids into one, as seen in the photo.

Notching chains

There are different shapes and sizes, an example is in the photo, the components are made by cutting from a thin plate and are connected without soldering.
A common disadvantage of all machine-knitted chains is their low strength compared to hand-made products. Such jewelry must be worn very carefully. The advantage is relatively low cost.

Hollow

Unlike other methods of producing chains that use wire, this method uses a hollow tube. The technology is quite complex, but well-developed, making it possible to obtain products of various shapes and sizes.

The advantage of such jewelry is that, despite their small mass, they visually look massive and luxurious. The main disadvantage is that it is almost completely unsuitable for repair in case of damage. It often becomes an impossible task, as contaminants penetrate inside.

In today's rapidly changing world, it is not so important how long the purchased item will last. You can always go and exchange a boring or damaged chain for another, new one. However, if you want gold jewelry to serve for many years, it is better to give preference to handmade in your choice.

The first mentions of chains date back to the times of Ancient Egypt. It was there that the prototypes of modern gold chains originated; they were massive and communicated the status of the owner. At that time, chain weaving was the most primitive, or they did not wear wicker jewelry, but simply pieces of gold connected to each other. Even the simplest anchor weaving appeared much later.

Over time, people learned to handle metal. They learned about its properties, in particular, its malleability, and began to use it. Thus, weaving gold chains has become more intricate and complex. Most often it was carried out by analogy with some objects.

Anchor weaving

For example, the anchor type of weaving resembled the anchor chain of a ship; armor weaving was similar to chain mail in a smaller version. But the purpose of wearing chains remains the same. This is still an effective way to emphasize status, material well-being and position in society. Gold chains have never gone out of fashion; they are relevant for both men and women. But besides cost, they are distinguished by another important criterion - weaving.

Benefits of weaving

Weaving is a variation of connecting links in a decoration. And one of the very first, classical types of weaving arose the anchor version. This technique consists in the fact that the links are simply connected to each other perpendicular to each other. The method is also called natural, since it did not require much imagination to come up with it. The technique is still popular because it has a number of advantages:

  • Versatility. Weaving is suitable for both men and women. The main difference is the thickness of the product.
  • Ease of execution. No wonder they say that everything ingenious is simple. The master does not need to invent intricate combinations. The technique is performed quite quickly even by hand. In addition, the product can be made using machine knitting or stamping. This does not mean that it will have poor characteristics, but these methods will make the chain cheaper. Even if you order weaving from a chain maker, it will not cost much more than machine work.
  • Volume of decoration. Since the links in the chain are located at right angles, this means that the product is not flat, but has some volume. It makes the chain seem thicker, although in reality it is not. If you don’t want the chain to constantly pull down your jacket, you can order a thinner piece of jewelry where the links as such will not be noticeable. And at first glance you will not be able to understand the essence of weaving. Therefore, the criterion is considered both an advantage and a disadvantage.
  • Compatibility with other decorations. This point is important because a gold chain is often worn with bracelets, rings and pendants. Due to its simplicity, the anchor chain looks good with a pendant. When choosing the latter, do not forget to take into account its dimensions and compare them with the thickness of the chain. If the chain is thick, you should not take small, delicate pendants, as they will simply get lost against the massive background. And, conversely, the pendant should not pull the chain down. Pendants in combination with an anchor chain can be different, not necessarily secular or with stones. Often this chain is considered for religious pendants, for example, crosses. Often, silver jewelry becomes a gift from godparents before the baptism ceremony.

Anchor weaving in silver

Varieties of techniques

In addition to the basic technique, the anchor weaving pattern continues to evolve. Several varieties have appeared that diversify the product. Among them are:

  • Double anchor. This technology is not too different from conventional weaving. The whole point is that each link doubles. That is, instead of one ring, two are threaded into the next link. The technique was created to add volume to the chain.
  • "Rollo." A method in which the chain links are round in shape (in the classic version they are oval). This technique was developed by the fashion house Chopard. That's why she is often called "Chopard" now.
  • “Garibaldi” is the name of the technique, derived from the surnames of two spouses who were inseparable. And the technique itself is similar to making “Rollo”, only in this case the link rings are double.
  • But not only standard options can be made based on the anchor technique. There are also fantasy chains, their names: “Hawaiian”, “Aurora”. This is a more complex technique that is often used for women's products.

Depending on the type of anchor weaving, you can choose the length and thickness of the product. There are no restrictions. The shortest option is 40 centimeters, the product will be located around the neck. And the long chain reaches 60–70 centimeters and the lower neckline on the body.

The anchoring technique can be improved with the help of coatings. Of course, a gold-plated chain will cost less, but the coating will wear off over time. The process happens faster if the chain rubs against your neck and you wear it constantly. But if the master wants to protect the product from scratches or abrasions, he can apply a layer of rhodium, which will not spoil the appearance of the jewelry. Diamond coating is responsible for giving the chain additional shine. It is this that ennobles the chain.

Gold bracelet anchor weave

The strength of the technique is quite high, however, the links can break and fall out. To ensure that this happens as rarely as possible, you should inquire about the quality of the product before purchasing. Don't forget to check all the certificates that confirm the quality and skill of the jeweler. Inquire about the strength of the alloy.

Gold chains are made from 585 or 830. For this technique, using a higher-grade alloy is dangerous because gold is a soft metal that is prone to deformation. And 585 standard is durable and will last for many years.

If possible, purchase only filled chains. They are easy for a master to care for and repair. Hollow links are difficult to repair if cracked or broken. Don't forget to pay attention to the castle. The more massive the product, the stronger it should be, for example, a carbine. But for thin jewelry options, a springel is quite suitable.

The choice of chain and weave depends on your taste, as well as the purpose of use. This chain has already become a real classic at a reasonable price. It will never spoil your style, and it will not be called tasteless. Anchor style weaving goes well with other accessories and decorations, but it is advisable that they are made of the same type of metal.

All women love jewelry - chains, earrings, pendants, necklaces, brooches and others. One of the most popular products is gold bracelets. They gracefully decorate a lady's hand and emphasize the good taste of their owner. Weaving women's gold bracelets, as the photos demonstrate, has many varieties.

Gold bracelet weave "Bismarck"

Anchor and armored

"Anchor" is a simple but elegant type of weaving. Used in the making of many jewelry. It consists of links connected in series at an angle of ninety degrees to one another. There are several options:

  • “Classic” - the links are made in the form of an oval.
  • “Belzer” or “Rollo” - the links are shaped like a circle.
  • Venetian style is a strong weave that is distinguished by elegant thin links in the form of a rectangle or square. Several links can be connected into one block.
  • Cord weaving - the anchor chain has a twisted shape.

Armor weaving produces very beautiful fancy bracelets. The base consists of links, polished on both sides, connected in one plane. Depending on the number of links that fit into one another, single, double and triple shells are distinguished. Types of armor weaving:

  • "Rhombo" - the links have a rhombic shape.
  • “Nonna” - with such a plexus, small links are enclosed inside large links.
  • “Cartier”, or “Figaro” is a combined weaving of gold chains, which is based on links of various shapes: round, oval, square, diamond-shaped and rectangular. Moreover, they all alternate with each other.
  • “Snake” (jewelry cord) - weaving with a cross-section in the shape of a circle. The bracelet has a slight zigzag effect and is very reminiscent of a snake.
  • “Cobra” - weaving has a cross-section in the shape of a square or oval.
  • “Popcorn” - the surface of the links is swollen.
  • “Rope”, or “Kruchenka” - a gold bracelet is woven by analogy with a rope. It looks very catchy.
  • Singapore weaving - the links are connected in such a way that the chain is twisted. When moving, the bracelet shines and shines.
  • “Eye of the Panther” is an exquisite armor-like weaving of asymmetrical links.
  • “Love” - heart-shaped links are connected into an openwork air chain. The technology is used only in the manufacture of jewelry for women.
  • “Snail”, or “Clip” - the links are twisted into a spiral.

Fantasy weaving bracelet

"Perlina" and "Bismarck"

The type of weaving “Perlina” is also called ball weaving, since the links are made in the form of balls and are connected to each other by thread. They are associated with pearls, hence the name of the weave. The links can be completely round, made in the form of ovals or in the form of cylinders. The bracelet looks very feminine and sophisticated.

Bismarck weaving is also called “Kaiser” or “Cardinal”. This type ranks first among weavings. It is a complex pattern of sequentially connected links, which, in turn, are woven from several multidirectional elements. Fantasy weaving has the following varieties:

  • flat;
  • semi-volume;
  • "American";
  • "Python";
  • "Pharaoh";
  • "Caprice";
  • "Byzantine", or "King's Style".

Among jewelers it is recognized as one of the most beautiful weaves. It is used to create gold bracelets not only for women, but also for men. The jewelry is strong, durable, and suitable for business style.

Types of weaving gold bracelets

Other types of weaving

Fantasy weaving of the second category of complexity is suitable only for women's gold jewelry. Bracelets made in this way are highly durable, last for many years and do not deform when worn. Jewelers sometimes call this type of weaving “Rose”.

The links resemble a wonderful flower. They are connected in a chain in a complex order, forming an openwork light knitting of a voluminous look. The weave itself looks great and is used for expensive items.

The given list of bracelet weaves: “Anchor”, “Pantsirnoe”, “Perlina”, “Bismarck” - is far from complete. Jewelers know many other weaving options, for example, “Spider”, “Wheat” (very beautiful English weaving, its other name is “Spikelet”). “Serpentine” is an elegant and delicate weave, ideal for women’s gold bracelets; it looks elegant on the hand. No less good are such types as “Prince of Wales”, “Cuban” and others.

Every woman should remember that the product she chooses is designed to harmonize with the outfit, not to stand out from the general style, but to complement the image, emphasizing its femininity and sophistication.

Weaving methods

Jewelry making in the 21st century is based on the following methods of weaving gold chains and bracelets:

  • Machine knitting is a complex automated process that is performed on special machines. Allows you to produce jewelry with ultra-thin links (wall thickness does not exceed 0.2 mm). But not all types of weaving can be done by machine knitting. For example, “Bismarck” is always hand-woven.
  • Stamping is the weaving of jewelry from pre-prepared links - stamps. They are not soldered, but threaded one into the other. Stamped bracelets look massive and heavy, but in fact they are not strong and durable; they often become twisted and deformed when worn.
  • Hand weaving is painstaking and delicate work. Jewelers who weave bracelets by hand are called chain makers. First, they wind a gold thread onto a base in the form of a spiral, after which the resulting workpiece is cut into rings of the same size, from which the links are soldered. The resulting links are fastened together with pliers, weaving a pattern. A hand-knitted gold bracelet has a minimum weight of six grams, its appearance and quality depend on the skill of the chain weaver.

After weaving, chains and bracelets are processed in two to four stages - diamond cutting, flattening, and beading.

The choice of jewelry is a matter of taste, but designers advise the fair sex with graceful wrists to choose gold bracelets made of fine weaving. And massive ones, with many inserts and pendants, look better on a fuller hand.
